Clinical meeting, Wednesday, 8th February, 2017

Hi,

The first meeting of 2017 will be a combined one with the O&G specialists. The topic is hypertension in pregnancy, but other items in the interplay of light betwixt the specialties may also be raised.  It is on a Wednesday night. There was no room at the inn (Pindara) and so it will be held at SAS rooms, suite 12, 82-86 Minnie St, Southport. 5.30 for 6pm. Specialists from both Pindara and GCPH are invited. Food and drink supplied. Please RSVP for catering purposes. (pmcl4215@bigpond.net.au.)

The sponsor will be Donna Williams from Masimo. They not only market some innovative oximeters, but also a non-invasive device for tracking trends in a patient’s Hb post-operatively.

FDA Drug Safety Communication: FDA review results in new warnings about using general anesthetics and sedation drugs in young children and pregnant women.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning that repeated or lengthy use of general anesthetic and sedation drugs during surgeries or procedures in children younger than 3 years or in pregnant women during their third trimester may affect the development of children’s brains.
